Book Review Activity "Integrative Holistic PAUD" Provides New Insights on Early Childhood Education

On January 16, 2023, the Early Childhood Education Masters Program, Surabaya State University held a book review of "Integrative Holistic Early Childhood Education" which took place in the Auditorium on the 4th Floor of Building 06, FIP UNESA. This event presented the main speaker Prof. Dr. Rachma Hasibuan, M.Kes., who discussed the importance of an integrative holistic approach in early childhood education.
This activity began with an opening by the committee and continued with remarks from the Coordinator of the Early Childhood Education Masters Program, who emphasized the important role of teachers and education personnel in implementing an integrative holistic approach. Prof. Rachma then presented the contents of the book comprehensively, explaining how collaboration between various parties—such as parents, teachers, and health workers—can support children's overall development, covering aspects of health, nutrition, education, and care.
During the question and answer session, participants, the majority of whom were Early Childhood Education Masters students, actively participated in discussions regarding the implementation of this concept in the field, including the challenges faced and strategies to overcome them. Prof. Rachma also presented case studies from several regions that have successfully implemented this approach, inspiring participants to implement it in their respective PAUD institutions. The event was closed with a summary of the discussion results that recommended various policies to support the implementation of the holistic integrative concept at various levels of education. This book review succeeded in enriching the participants' insights into the importance of holistic education for early childhood, which is expected to be applied more widely in the future.
